BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. soldier was killed after his patrol came under attack
north of Baghdad, the U.S. military command said Monday.

The soldier died on Sunday evening when his patrol was attacked with small
arms fire, the military said. It did not release further details, and the
soldier's identity was withheld while the military contacts his family.
