Two U.S. soldiers, one marine killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq_Two soldiers and one marine were killed in Iraq, the U.S.
military command said Thursday.

All three died on Wednesday. A soldier from the 1st Brigade Combat Team,
34th Infantry Division was killed by a roadside bomb on a route security
mission, the U.S. command said Thursday.

The other two _ a marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5 and a soldier
assigned to the 1st Marine Logistics Group _ died "from wounds sustained due
to enemy action" in the restive Anbar province west of the capital.

Their identities were withheld pending notification of their families.

At least 2,600 U.S. servicemen and women have died since the U.S.-led
invasion of Iraq in March 2003; of those, more than 2,000 were killed in
hostile action.
