ATLANTA--Two U.S. Army soldiers pleaded guilty Thursday to roles in planning a staged commando-style raid of a drug stash house. Carlos Lopez pleaded guilty to a federal charge of attempted robbery by the use of force. Randy Spivey pleaded guilty to concealing a felony. The two soldiers, from the Camp Frank D. Merrill mountain training facility in Dahlonega, were arrested in Sandy Springs in January in an undercover sting orchestrated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The soldiers were led to believe they were going to rob a drug house, killing an armed guard if necessary, then sell off the stolen cocaine. Sentencing has not been scheduled.
