As many Americans may remember John Thune was the Republican challenger who managed to beat the Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle last november. I know President Bush had a lot to do with this, how? Because South Dakota is a state full of hicks who want to feel important and if the President says that he supports Thune the voters will believe him and if Thune says he has the President's right ear than the voters will believe him too. Well now South Dakota will be paying for it to the tune of $200,000,000 a year. Ellsworth AFB was put on the base closure and realignment list. Daschle managed to keep Ellsworth for over 10 years, Thune couldn't even manage six months. Ousting Daschle was possibly the stupidest thing that the voters could have done, we got rid fo the Senate Minority Leader and put in a Rookie and what do you know, we lost. Not only that, but now Daschle is off the list as the Democratic Party's Candidate for President in 2008, and he will not run in 2010.
So what do you guys think? Is Thune done for or will the hicks once again believe him when he says that he has the President's right ear and vote him into another term?
