Donald Trump took the stage Thursday night in the ballroom of a Manhattan hotel he built and cast himself as a staunch defender of "New York values." To a mostly adoring hometown crowd at the New York State Republican Gala, he never once mentioned his rival Ted Cruz, who received a dismal reception at the dinner.
