Today is election day in TX - thank god it is over for a little while. Even though I voted a month ago (by mail) I get at least 4 “Robo calls” from politicians daily.
Telemarketer calls, unsolicited ones. Thay can be a pain on the rear.
I found this on the you tube that can be a weapon for payback...

Many years ago I had one phone me in UK, what annoyed me I was watching a brilliant movie on TV:-
Me sounding annoyed, "HELLO!"
Young female telemarketer, "You have won a two week holiday in Malta, all you need to do is pay for your meals and airfare." (Sounding all pleased with herself she said) "What do you think of that."
Me, "Not much, I was stationed there at RAF Luqa on detachment, its a sh!te hole."
Young female telemarketer went very quiet, then said quietly "So you don't want it then?"
Me, "Why would I go back to a sh!te hole that I hated, have you ever been there?"
Young female telemarketer, "Erm no."
Me, "There's nothing there, it's a barren rock in the middle of the Med."
Young female telemarketer, "So you don't want it then?"
Me, "NO!"
Young female telemarketer, "Erm, OK thank you."

My response to a telemarketer has always been to indulge in questions like these-
1. So you do this for a living, what are you wearing now?
2. I need to know your working address, so I can return the product if I do not like it.
3. Can person with mental illness buy these?
4. I know someone who bought these and died soon after that. Will that happen to me too?
5. How did you get these number? I keep telling the constable not to release it to anyone...
6. Where is my mother? I have not seen her for days. Have you found her?
Never failed to have the person hang up immediately....

It's not anonymous nor safe , plus the pop ups and advertising while reading is annoying. As for the food - "who gives a flip?" lol Meanwhile we have warriors fighting to keep our country safe. Fun for civilians I guess. While FB is playing the "game of life" others are fighting to keep that life safe.
I prefer IMF
as it's private and much more 'pop' free for those who want to keep in touch with loved ones.

Agreed! I heard a qoute once "America's armed forces are at war, America is at the mall".
And it holds allot of water, but who can you blame? Today's generation who was indoctrinated in this lifestlye from birth?
Or the generation or two who built the circumstances of the consermuism based society and the needs to excerise our armed forces to gain what past generations wanted, but today's generations claim they need in order to have another seaons of "America's got talent" And another round of the next new "Iphone" , or another episode of "Two and Half Men"?
In a very very cynical sense, if there are intelligent lifeforms out there, if they are watching us, they must be laughing their ###'s off right now.

I think about a way to get this pattern out to everybody almost everyday Poet Sarah.
But how? We have so many interest groups both inside and outside corporate America and Government that it is so very difficult.
If I made a post on the IMF for instance, the counter points and plain out refusal to acknowledge the condition , not my opinion, but condition of our society today will be almost impossible.
As long as the cattle fights the cattle on this global farm of ours, because of their dependence on the farmer, and unwillingness to threaten that depedence, to question if there is a fundemental trade and life fufillment problem, and not a problem with groups A or B.
The rich blaming the poor, the Capitailist blaming socialists, and Lord forbid people shouting the dreaded C word (communists), who do not know what that terms means or even how it failed.
Nobody wants to threaten their feed trough, they don't want other cattle to jump the pasture fence, and thus will threaten any cattle who don't want to, out of fear that the farmer himself with cut off the flow substance for those who remain.
As long as this happens than the famer doesn't have to intervine, hell the cattle does it for him.

A lucky generation as far as school. When I was in HighSchool, they taught us typing.. now you have your computers there in highschool and have a jump start.:smil:
You can'tsolve all the poblems and I know it's frustrating. You'll learn how to relax and look back and see what you did which was helpful to the next. As long as you do what you know is right, you'll have a happy life. I wish my children would read your posts sometimes as you're so close in age and will reap what we sowed.But then, they may take it out on me now. Reading these does open your eyes. Which this new generation is doing;which every generation blames the one before. You know that line clearly, no doubt.

Telemarketers have jobs, they have families and they don't want to call you any more than you want to listen. My brother did telemarketing through college and he hated every second of it because of people that respond like that and people that were downright mean. Just FYI.
It pisses me off when I hear people boasting about 'playing' this sort of game or just generally being jerks.

Sorry I don't agree Pixie, telemarketing in my opinion is an invasion of my privacy, if I wanted to buy anything I go shopping, I don't expect anyone to phone me at home offering all kinds of crap. I also get highly annoyed with door to door sales people coming to my home trying to sell me substandard goods, the same applies to Jehovah Witness's and mormons. If I wanted to pray I'd go to church.
