Top 10 Sexiest aircraft

In test combat F 15's could not deal with the F22 and none of our F 15's ever lost to a Mig. The F 22's agility and stealth will make it damn hard to just target...assuming you last that long. Have the Russian planes caught up to the F-15? Perhaps, but F-15 jocks have said 5 F-15's can't take out one Raptor....

Cost effective? Maybe, maybe not.
High maintanance? We'll see. It's fast, agile, and stealthy enough that few current fighters can find it and get a lock on it. I doubt there's many times an F 22 gets in a twisty dogfight with guns.

I used to spar with a couple of roomies who were martial artists, when I was a YOUNG peace loving hippy. Now.....30 yr older..if a Black Belt was after me,I'd just shoot the bloke in the knee and jog away. :2guns:

Sexiest bird? The Blackbird. Just getting to see one take off once was a thrill.

at lackland 2 f-22s took out 8 f-15s in a training excercise without even being detected... win

I like the most slender and narrow and pointed. The Blackbird is definitely the most slender and narrow and pointed, so I vote for ALL HAIL BLACKBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!

These are mine, in no particular order, purely based on my own reaction, not any scientific equation:
1. Supermarine Spitfire
2. AC 130
3. Mitchell B 25-J
4. SR 71 Blackbird
5. Dassault Rafale
6. IAI Kfir
7. FW 200 Condor
8. DeHavilland Mosquito
9. Il2 Sturmovik
10. Blackburn Buccaneer

Please feel free to pick holes in my selection, but these aircraft evoke a visceral response in me - I don't know why and I don't care, I just enjoy the buzz.

Exactly what I was going to say. The A-10 despite its many advantages but it is Butt ugly. It has no curves and its tail stick out like warts, its nose landing gear is off center, and its engines make it look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Even the people that fly it will tell you its an ugly duckling.

I dont the the 109E would be on list either. Its box cockpit with the thick window frames look ugly and the support braces for the aerilons make the plane look like its on crutches or something.

P-51D should be on the list.

To be honest I would put the A10 at the top of my list as there is a certain beauty in ruggedness, you cant tell me this isn't sexy.

After that it would be a toss up between the FW-190, ME-262 and Mosquito.

Warthig for me also, always was.

Avro Vulcan and Handley Page Victor (more so) had some of that ruggish sex on another level:

Now having flown in the Concorde I will have to give this plane as my choice. When you are flying in it and you look out of the window you look down and see the world curving away from you, when you look up the sky has turned black as you are now getting towards the edge space, and here you are traveling faster than a rifle bullet.
I was lucky enough to do a trip into RAF Station Biggin Hill back in the 1980's when the Battle of Britain show was on and we had an escort of a Squadron of Spitires on each wing as we made a slow pass.

By the way I know that those are Spitfires with Concorde

Call me oldfashioned, but to me it is still the F-104G and the RF-4E.
