Of course you must realise that this is not selective editing.

Pbbbtt!!

Your standard of trolling will have to improve greatly bxqs. You are no more than a wheel barrow in a land of tip trucks here. You have made a poor start for a new player.

I'm not surprised to see something of this caliber come from a Chinese forum after the way Google content has been controlled in China. I would be ashamed if such b..ls..t propaganda came from America with the expectation that a sane person would believe one iota of it. It's not even up to the standards of spam. I will leave this one for the members to see and judge, but no such luck on anything else like this posted on here, it will be deleted.

It's obviously selected to give different messages but there is a small element of truth (as with all lies).
1) Even in disaster, Chinese people in general are far less likely to get violent towards each other.
2) When the police or military show up, the Chinese people cooperate, unlike in the West where we're just bombarded with messages of resisting the police and the military to the point that it becomes an automatic reflex in lots of people.
3) The Chinese government are trying to keep the people happy because they're actually afraid that if they cannot deliver to the expectations of the people, there will be an organized overthrow and call for actual democratic elections (I s*** you not).

So like I said, it's obviously a very one sided photo collection but that's what I think is actually true about them.
And for those of you who would know, I am by no means anything close to a fan of China.
These guys are not stupid.

It's not a matter of whether I think they are stupid.

But if this is the quality of Chinese propaganda, their own leadership obviously thinks that their people are stupid. A truly childish attempt. totally lacking in subtlety or real thought.

What they neglect to understand is that because our access to the Internet and world news is not censored, we are able to see the truth with our own eyes. Yes,.. our Governments make some mistakes, but they are at least willing to let their people see those mistakes.

This is obviously not the case in China. I wonder why??

Another attempted spam/propaganda attack by some ChiCom. Ehh.... I know the truth and I know why thousands of my former country men and women (Cuban) leave the island and travel across the Florida Straights to reach the USA. Because the USA is still the best damn nation in the world. Even if the government/people do make mistakes we're still a hell of a lot better then the People's Republic of China.

China keeps such a strangle hold on the information coming in and out of the country sometimes the people believe whatever they can get their hands on. Kind of in a since like the middle east but different in the fact alot of the chinese are well educated so you would figure they might have better minds than to just take this at face value.

Back in the 1930s, Germany had a well educated population that participated in a pretty dark chapter of history. Even well educated people can be misled.

The image of the Chinese in these photos are glossed up like it's nobody's business but the New Orleans stuff is believable. I hope America makes a comeback because the last time I went I saw a country in trouble.
Unlike when I was there between 2000 and 2004, there was a distinct lack of professionalism at almost every level. The trains never ran on time, the metro system had more elevator or escalator outages in 2 weeks than I had seen in other metro systems for the past 3 years combined. And in every "We apologize for the inconvenience" message, it didn't sound like an apology but sounded more like, "Hey, you're ass is lucky we're still running. We're doing you a favor. I'd rather be home ****ing my wife. Screw you losers."
There's this stuff about FEMA I keep hearing about...
Hopefully in the next 4 years things will turn around.
I just have to say it was just shocking.
But that was just D.C... things weren't like this at all in Arizona or California.

Sorry this ain't a pretty picture but it was just shocking.

hooray for spamming propoganda! okay, sarcasm aside, i'm with everyone here in the opinion that some of those chinese pictures look as if they could be posed to make the country look better. but if the government is that scared of the people rising up and taking over the country, there is obviously something wrong with the country.

1. please visit the google server in China by www.google.cn. Try it by yourself to see if it is controled like you think.

As a chinese, I can easily access BBC, CNN, Skynews etc. from China. I have been reading all kinds of english sites for many years. the incomprehension and prejudice from you people impress me. Now, Chinese people are widely open their eyes to watch this world. On average, for those normal ordanary people, they know American much more better than American know Chinese. For example, Millions of Chinese people can understand both English and Chinese language, can you? Maybe, American are too pround to know the world outside.:sorry:

when you critical the chinese people are cheated and duped by the "news control", be careful you are the one you just said. maybe you are cheated in a higher level you can't feel.:2guns:

we all want to hear what we want, do we?

2. personally, I don't quite agree with the the first part of this thread. I know that those pictures are so selective to foil the topic and I believe it is posted by some nationalism youth. But I still feel happy and pround when I saw it, because when the flood happened in 1999, I was there. I believe if we have the better conditions like American, we will do much better than America.
We all want to believe what we want to, do we? :D

Not to be rude, but **** Off :cens:
What do you know about Australia.... **** All
What do I know about China.... **** All
Thats the way I like it
and by the way, we are not all yanks here.
And keep your b******t off this site!

The young man in the light blue overalls, had never seen a Westerner before, or been more than a very short distance from his village before my company employed him.

You only need to look at problems like illegal immigration to see that your country is not high on the list of desirable places to live. China has made great advances in recent years, but nearly all of China beyond the cities is still medieval in concept.

No one on this forum denies your right to be a patriotic Chinese citizen, and we will gladly accept this, but spreading false propaganda is not the way to get your message across.

Shall I begin to post up critiques of China from my last six years in your country? You sure you wanna go there son?

Ahhh... nice to have you back in the fight BD. Been kinda hard for me to keep the fight going myself.

As an American I speak two languages. English and Spanish. I spoke Spanish first then learned English. I have traveled far and wide in my short 23 year old life. I have seen the differences in the virtues of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Federalism, etc....

If the USA was not the best nation in the world then we would not have large amounts of migrants trying to gain illegal entry. I'm talking about people fleeing Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, and most of the nations of Central and South America. We have a large number of Europeans and South East Asians coming into the USA.

We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to keep and bear arms, freedom of choice, freedom of education, and lastly we don't have secret police coming after me at night because I protested the government.

When the people of the United States of America protest against their own government for something as simple how a pigs lives in a farm while it's pregnant. That issue was so high that the Florida State Constitution was amended and changed.

In the People's Republic of China I see people arrested for speaking out against the government, for being a practicing Christian or Falun Gong. I see people have no freedom of speech. I see tanks rolling down streets during a peace march. I see a nation in which it is the government that rules the people. Not the people ruling the government.

Very simple idea to remember in the USA. A Government of the people, by the people, for the people. And guess what.... we don't call ourselves a "People's Republic". Every two bit thug despotic nation that I have ever seen in the history of mankind has called itself something like the following.

The People's Democratic Republic
The People's Socialist Federation
The United Socialists People's Republic
etc....

The more the name sounds like a really great government the more it's not.

Yeah.
The guys who are smart enough to know the truth are usually in positions of power and these lies help them stay there so they don't have too many qualms about it. They'd see it as a good thing in fact. Something to keep the people in line and avoid the apparent chaos that leaders and managers in the West have to face.
It's a pretty lethal arrangement.
And as long as their country has a shot at becoming a world superpower the people may not care for the truth either.
Whatever floats their boat. But personally I'm not a big fan of being lied to.
