Shall I begin to post up critiques of China from my last six years in your country? You sure you wanna go there son?
Ahhh... nice to have you back in the fight BD. Been kinda hard for me to keep the fight going myself.
As an American I speak two languages. English and Spanish. I spoke Spanish first then learned English. I have traveled far and wide in my short 23 year old life. I have seen the differences in the virtues of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Federalism, etc....
If the USA was not the best nation in the world then we would not have large amounts of migrants trying to gain illegal entry. I'm talking about people fleeing Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, and most of the nations of Central and South America. We have a large number of Europeans and South East Asians coming into the USA.
We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to keep and bear arms, freedom of choice, freedom of education, and lastly we don't have secret police coming after me at night because I protested the government.
When the people of the United States of America protest against their own government for something as simple how a pigs lives in a farm while it's pregnant. That issue was so high that the Florida State Constitution was amended and changed.
In the People's Republic of China I see people arrested for speaking out against the government, for being a practicing Christian or Falun Gong. I see people have no freedom of speech. I see tanks rolling down streets during a peace march. I see a nation in which it is the government that rules the people. Not the people ruling the government.
Very simple idea to remember in the USA. A Government of the people, by the people, for the people. And guess what.... we don't call ourselves a "People's Republic". Every two bit thug despotic nation that I have ever seen in the history of mankind has called itself something like the following.
The People's Democratic Republic
The People's Socialist Federation
The United Socialists People's Republic
etc....
The more the name sounds like a really great government the more it's not.
