Just received best wishes for a Happy Birthday from the IMF. Wanted to say thanks, even though I consider this to be an un-birthday. I am getting so old that I have begun subtracting a year each birthday.
Happened to also receive today an email from an old friend with the connection to the virtual Vietnam Wall. Looked up a high school buddy who went down in his helicopter in Jan 1968, the same month I left Vietnam after an 18 month tour. My buddy, Jim Williamson, was listed as MIA until his body was finally recovered from Laos in 2007 and he was brought home and buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
Makes one really enjoy and thank God for all the birthdays since 1968 that I have been blessed with, and which Jim never saw. I promise not to complain any more about getting old, and just enjoy it.
