Could have said the same thing about the Boston Tea Party though couldn't we, just a bunch of disaffected A-holes and rent a crowd faithful.

The fact is through out the world civility generally gets people nowhere, France didn't over throw its aristocracy by writing letters to the newspapers, the USA didn't become the USA by waiting for King George to see reason and the Magna Carta didn't come into being through a magnanimous gesture by King John.

You can not have a police force shooting its own citizens at a rate of greater than 1 a day and think people (especially the groups that are being shot) are not going to get pissed.

So yes those protests are both good and needed they are indications of people prepared to stand up for a cause and while it can be misguided it is not a bad thing and in many ways they are a true form of democracy while blind obedience to authority is not.

well for one you cant really call people looting stores, burning down buildings, and setting fire to motor vehicles a protest that is called a riot. And these people are not doing anything helpful other than proving how stupid they can be. The police officers in Baltimore are under investigation by the DA's office and if they are found guilty will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. All that these people are doing is breaking the laws of destruction of property, disturbing the peace, and Assault of police and through doing this they are helping absolutely no one at all and are in the process are either purposely or accidentally harming all of the law abiding citizens of the area through direct contact with property and belongings of these people or through the after affects caused by that. And bringing up the Boston tea party does not help your cause at all we may have done it but it still does not make it right in any context because as some people say including me " if you don't know your past (history) then you won't know your future." and that becomes truer every day.(BTW- the Boston tea party was about high taxes and starting a revolution towards independence not police or the military killing civilians. And we won the war that got us this country's freedom and democracy and now because of too much welfare and racism some people, specially in minorities are beginning to feel that they are entitled to do whatever they want including harm others for something that happened to someone else.

These protest - riots are terrible all they due is hurt the poor people living in the area that the protest - riots take place. These poor innocent souls are subjected to looting, thievery, arson, etc. The vast majority of these people have nothing to do with the politics of the case nor due the thieving, vandalizing, looting protesters. To them it's just an opportunity for ill gotten gain.
Do not confuse these with the peaceful protest of a generation ago by Dr. Martin Luther King.

No real social services exists
I'm amazed they haven't all moved to NYS where millions are on welfare (many able bodies). My ex-sister in-law for one
