The Taliban were not thrown out of power for refusing to hand over Osama. The Taliban were thrown out because they refused to halt the terrorist training camps operating in their territory and even provided assistance to those camps. It is stupid comments like this that belittle the efforts of our forces and bring into question the validity of our efforts. As a news reporter, how can they destroy their own article by adding such drivel as a closing statement. No wonder the American People are so confused on what their government is really doing if main stream media sources are allowed to get away with inflamitory statements like that. The author of this article should be made to appologise, then fired and band from ever working in the media again.

Mulla Omar has never lost his grip on Afghanistan less Kabul where Karzai has been the Mayor. The Americans have been trying their utter best to make some contact with Mulla Omar, but he won't talk to the Americans. We are seeing the Americans fleeing defeated like many invaders into this country - happening for centuries in their history. Once the Americans are out the Mulla will be back in the open as before.

Invader is probably the key word here. Invaded people tend to dislike them.
