Statement by NATO Secretary General
on the death of a Swedish ISAF soldier

I am deeply saddened by the death of the Swedish ISAF soldier who lost his life, and the injuries caused to his three comrades following an attack on their vehicle in Northern Afghanistan on 25 November.

This soldier lost his life carrying out a mission to which both NATO and its partners, including Sweden, remain firmly committed: to help bring peace and security to the people of Afghanistan, and to prevent that country from once again becoming a haven for international terrorism.

He was aparently apart of SSG, i'm glad that he didnt die like the ghost he lived as! RIP! And i hope the 3 others will be allright as soon as possible! Its the first fatality that SSG has experienced and I hope its the last!

SSGs mission in Afghanistand was (and might still be) to protect the king of Afghanistan as he returned after living in exile after the Taliban overtake.
