Splitting Fax/DSL Line

I'm going to be using the same line for both the fax machine and DSL, both sharing a single jack. I know I have to use a filter on the fax machine so that DSL signals won't interfare, but what sort of splitter do I need to buy? Fax machine operates on a 2-pin line (is it RJ11?) and the DSL uses a 4-pin RJ14. Should the splitter be a 2-pin or 4-pin type?

I'm thinking of getting this thing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812106085

Will that do?

Thanks. :smil:

Would suggest that you look into buying an "all in one printer" they will send and receive faxes along with scanning and printing. Saving space around your computer.

Yup, that's what I have. HP6310 All-in-one, got it new for only $99 from a local electronics store doing running out of business sale. And I solved the splitting problem with a simple 4-wire triple jack split, it's working like a dream.
