Firstly, its great to see an Intrenational Military Forum, shows that deep down we are all brothers, and closer than those who have not served !
My passion these days is the saving of military buildings and structures throughout Europe, im starting with Malta, synonymous with epic battles, and a very strategic point throughout history, it has some of the best preserved military structures in the world, but not for much longer if something is not done to save them !
This tiny nation is struggling to modernise and at the same time, save these places, of global importance, young men and women died fighting to defend or attack ( im not political ) these places, so we must not let their sacrifice be in vain, i want to secure funds to save these structures, and to that end ive set in motion a campaign to save my particular favourite, (due to location ) http://delimara-preservation-society.malta-site.com im shamelessly sending this to every EU politician and department, with the hope that someone will help, the more that see it the better chance we have of saving #1 in a long line of military buildings, the site is new so lots need to be added, im open to ideas, please forward this site to every politician in the world, one might actually take note ! I, too, believe we should as societey preserve some markstone buildings (as German I never understood why we did not conserve a part of the original Berlin Wall in the heart of the city - I know a part in some obscure woods have been conserved, but that is not th same - ), latest that I (and we at WaT in total) supported were the WWII casernes and structures in Belgium (Bastogne, WWII US 101st Airborne Division HQ), and the public outcry turned out to be a success: http://www.warandtactics.com/smf/wa...-several-barracks-leads-to/msg10588/#msg10588

Good Luck with your quest!
