Sometimes It's Better to be Lucky than Good...

DURING WORLD WAR II, a convoy of American ships was traveling by night from North Africa to southern France in total darkness to avoid being seen by enemy submarines. A sudden storm dispersed the convoy. In the morning, one ship found itself alone with only a hazy view of land at the edge of an unfamiliar horizon. Was this France? No one was certain until several hours later. As the crew was searching for a likely place to dock, a small boat from the French navy came forth to meet the ship. "Congratulations!" yelled one Frenchman. "You have just passed through the most heavily mined area in southern France!"
