My Honest opinion those who claim military self defense for Israel's actions against Palestine is rubbish on one degree.

Fighting for it's exsistance in 1967 and 1974 was self defense.

Suppressing and then slowly annexing what little Palestinians have left seems more like self offense, Palestine is not a coalition of Arab militaries surrounding Israel with the intend to wipe them out, they are people who inhabited those shores without issue until now just like the Jews there for thousands of years.

And your politicians are the main supporters of Israel. All of us know the Jews have the strongest lobby in the US and it is why the US insures their security.
But two questions always are in my mind.
First how much is their power and how much money they have that they can control the US politicians as they want?
Second why the other countries, especially Arab countries don't have or cant have this lobby? they earn a lot of money from their oil and they can buy influential large media or oil , military and other companies to increase their influence, instead of buying chain stories or football teams.

The US is a religious country, their Right Christians are supportive of Israel and they are important for the politicians when the US has an election. The Jewish influence has been discussed a lot. There is another factor which influences the decision to take the Israel's side. They are only one, the Arabic world is more fragmented and they have their own agendas. Some countries are hostile toward Israel, others don't care so much of what happens there, they have other problems to deal with. To use the term “The Arabic World” is problematic.

Lets not forget that this Israel situation has no shortage of issues as well...

Hence our topic on discussion now, and for the forseeable future this issue only will get worse, possibly into a military cluster#### should Israel for better or for worse decide to no longer tolerate Iranian influence or nuclear ambitions in the region.

Any developing situation against Iran by Israel maybe used as scapegoat for the FULL occupation of what is left of Palestine, and like the Soviet Expanision in Eastern Europe after WW ll, may have a more permenant standing.

It's garbage like this that gives me little hope that Israel will do anything to stop this situation.

For Israel can't claim that the fire burns ,while all the while they pour petrol all over it....

Israel provides the whole darn world with issues. The only hope would be when Israel quit being reactive and considering the consequences of every single action. This is not a military problem and cannot be solved by military means. If Aliens were flying over this planet and looked down on us, they might be thinking. "This is a nice place, we could land and make contact", then they are flying over the Middle East. "Holy crap! They are nuts down there; let’s get out of here fast!"

@ MontyB post 742.

This is a one sided article and makes the same mistake as all the others. They never ask themselves why Israel acts like that.
They all claim that it is Israel who is opposing peace but they forget that Israel once burnt their fingers with a peace plan. They had settlements in Gaza (as now in the West Bank) and a military presence (as now in the West Bank). They made an unilateral disengagement plan, dismantled all the settlements and witdrew the military in exchange for peace. What they got back was not peace but rockets and those rocket attacks are still going on after 7 years. What do you think Israel expects when they do the same in the West Bank? Only one thing can move Israel to peace: guarantee their security. No more rockets or suicide attacks or kidnapping. Everything the Palestinians and others are complaining about are caused by themselves.

@ BritinAfrica post 746 - pictures

did you check out the story or did you just post it ?

Controversy over 'execution' pictures. This link says:

...which published the graphic, but inconclusive images below...
Like many pictures and/or video's about Israeli "atrocities" this one is also fishy.
The man on the ground was a member of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (anti-Israel info)

Pictures 1 and 2 show border guards, picture 3 shows one police man (who got the order to shoot) and 2 bomb disposal members.

AFP news agency said it had received the testimonies of more than 10 eyewitnesses. Some excerpts: (link here)
- there is a videotape recording the crime. (Al-Hayat al-Jadida, March 11, 2002). Where is the tape? Pictures don't give a timeline and things you don't like are easily removed.
- An anonymous caller from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s Fatah group, on Saturday claimed that Salah had been on his way to carry out a suicide bombing in east Jerusalem in the Neve Yaakov Jewish settlement in the area.
- At around 4.30 p.m., the third member shot the guy eight or nine times in the head. Then they left the place and left the guy bleeding. The guy was trying to move and to stand up. At around 5.15 p.m. he stopped moving. - Ever wondered how a guy can survive 8 or 9 shots in the head from close range for 45 minutes?

About Germans and French resistance. There is no comparison with Israel-Paelistinians. To make one we have to change history like this:
The French attacks Germany and Germany retaliates and occupies France. French resitance then kills German civilians in Germany and France. The Germans retaliate by killing the commanders of the French resistance but because they hide themselves among innocent civilians, the younger the better, the Germans have no other way than to accept the collateral damage.

About who started the war, read the reports of the British Mandate about it.

Sometime I don't even have confidence to think our species is even worth saving, let alone if any alien beings would waste time trying to contact us on our divided and polluted little rock.

What a dissapointment it would be, to backtrack all our past signals in space only to arrive in orbit over Gaza...

All that time traveling through space for this, it would be like recieving a post card about a Carribean paradise only to follow the return address to the dead side of Detroit.

A repeat of the Siberian Traps would solve a lot of problems.
