PRAGELATO, Italy, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Lars Bystoel of Norway staged an upset in Olympic ski jumping on Sunday when he won the gold medal of Norway staged an upset in Olympic ski jumping on Sunday when he won the gold medal in the normal hill individual event.

The 27-year-old, usually stronger on the large hill, clinched victory with a jump of 103.5 metres in the final round to give the powerful Norwegian team their first gold medal of the Games.


Finland's in-form Matti Hautamaeki took the silver and Bystoel's team mate Roar Ljoekelsoey won the bronze.

Great to see the first gold medal collected :) I personally think this was the best ski jump since Espen Bredesen in the 1994 Olympics :rock:
