DURING A TRAINING EXERCISE at Mac-Dill Air Force Base, Fla., our unit was open to visits from high-level officers and other VIPs. The squadron commander called late in the afternoon and asked if we had received any visitors that day. "Let me put it this way, sir," the airman replied. "At one time, there were enough stars and stripes here to make a flag."
