Gov. Jon S. Corzine yesterday called for closing the National Guard bombing range where a vast Pinelands wildfire is believed to have started last week. The fire, which burned more than 17,000 acres over six days, is believed to have started when an F-16 fighter jet dropped a flare during a training run. The Air Force is investigating. The Defense Department declined to comment yesterday.
