Having used military semi automatic assault rifles while serving in the military, I struggle to see why any civilian needs one or indeed finds any use for one.

I'm glad you admit a 100 round mag isn't needed. But you don't want to see them banned. The majority of your massacres have involved the use of assault rifles because they can inflict the most amount of suffering in a very short time.

In a perfect world guns would be for hunting, target shooting & collecting, but defense is high priority & the well secured gun tends to be of no use because it takes too long to get to in an emergency. Mass. has strong gun control, Vermont next door has carry w/o a permit. Which State would a criminal be better off breaking into a house?

Mass. has some of the strictest firearms laws and amazingly it comes bottom for firearms deaths. Is that just a coincidence?

Property crime in Mass. has also been falling even with all those locked away firearms. Is that also another coincidence?
