The D.C. attorney general's office has decided against prosecuting anti-war demonstrator Cindy Sheehan on a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a disturbance in September at a congressional hearing.
Sheehan, whose son was killed while fighting in Iraq, was arrested Sept. 10 during a hearing at which Army Gen. David H. Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker were testifying. She was due in D.C. Superior Court this week, but the city decided late Monday against moving forward.
Peter J. Nickles, the District's interim attorney general, said the decision came after a review of a videotape of the disturbance.
