Ahh, what a disappointment.

I guess I'll still tell my grandkids about how our family all went outside to see the Sputnik, with our old kitchen radio tuned right up at the end of it's bandwidth, listening to the, Beep,.... Beep,.... Beep.

We were all rather dumbfounded. What a technological marvel it was, and of course we would have been a lot more amazed if we could have seen where it was all going to lead.
