Topic: SAS WW2

Hi, I have joined this site in the hope that I may find some information about my father, who served with 2 SAS in WW2.
I am from the Falklands. My father immigrated there in 1957.
He died in 1979, so my knowledge of his WW2 experience is very limited.
If anyone knows how I can trace his experience, please contact me

I can't help with your query, however, I served with The Royal Military Police in the Falklands in 1991.

Welcome aboard...

What sort of information are you looking for, obviously the basics are available on the internet but if you can give us some idea what you are looking for we may be able to assist further.

One book that may be of help is Stirling's Men: The Inside History of the SAS in World War II by Gavin Mortimer, it is the first account of the SAS officially sanctioned by the veterans and cover their activities from the its forming in 1941 through to 1945.

Respect for your father.

Have you tried contacting the army direct I am sure they will have records somewhere just trying to help.

Was in the Falklands during and after the conflict.
