BAGHDAD, Aug 23, 2006 (AFP) - Ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's genocide
trial has been adjourned until September 11 after a request from defence
lawyers, Judge Abdullah al-Ameri told the court on Wednesday.
The adjournment marks the first interruption in the trial after only three
days of testimony against Saddam and six co-defendants accused of
orchestrating the slaughter of up to 182,000 Kurdish civilians.
