Russian protests

linky 100,000 reportedly protesting in Red(?) Square. Gorbachev is reported as calling for Putin to resign. Thoughts?

Putin is a former KGB man. He'd sooner run tanks over the protesters than willingly give up power.

Putin's idea of Democracy is that he is in charge of Russia no matter what, even when he isn't President.

It looks like Putins idea of democracy is the kind of democracy where he gets the majority of the votes and are elected president, but I don't hink he personally ordered somebody to make up the riddiculous figures that turned up on the count of votes.

Putin may not be too interested in what we, and the rest of the world think about him, but he's not a complete moron, and he knows his maths better than that.

Russia has resources and wealth, has stayed out of the lime light and still is seen as a friend to the redical Arab world. Why would Putin be worried about anything? The West and its problems are not his concern. He's just waiting for us to self destruct. :brave:
