Russian OMON vs US SWAT?!

Yeah, I want to live in Russia just because I like their military.

No, only reason I live here is because my parents fled to Australia when the war in the Balkans erupted in the early 1990's, then when it was getting better in about 2004 we went there to live pernamently, then my father got the cancer and we came back here and spent a crapload of money on lots of stuff and now we cant afford to go back and live there etc etc.
 
It was inevitable. Im just glad he died at least in a more peaceful way than some other people do [Who knows what some crazy ultra-right winged racists do to people?]
 
So does that mean its an 'ultra left wing' attack when a European person walks down the wrong street in asia and gets attacked?

Yeah, I watched a video on a Russian neo-nazi beheading, it was horrible, i nearly vomited.

And I read about another story a while back about some racists in Aus who mutilated an aboriginal man somwehre. Cant remember the details, was a while back.

Nazis are usually ultra right wing.
White folks are very seldom attacked around here and certainly aren't put on fire. It would be an ultra left wing attack if it was done by some Communist group.

No, Nazis are [or were] people who beleive in the German National Socialist ideology. But I guess more people say "Nazi" than "Fascist".

Yeah, its usually coloured people that are attacked, not white people. Luckily where I live that doesnt really happen [Because each "side" has their own gang].

And yes, if a bunch of communists rounded up some guys and shot them [From the stuff I read they usually shoot them instead of slicing them up] then it would be an ultra-leftwing attack.
 
Yes, but in CANBERRA they do [Central 7]. Even if they had a gang, I doubt it would help. A Russian on vodka is capable of causing thermonuclear explosions.
 
I'll say the SWAT is better, OMON is lower-level unit. Besides, SWAT definitely is better equiped technically.

As far as I know, OMON is not professional enough to be able successfully solve the hostage crysis with professional level terrorists involved, while SWAT is. In case of serious hostage crysis in Russia most likely `Vityaz` Unit of Ministry of Interior or `Alpha` Unit from Federal Security Bureau will be dispatched, while I believe American SWAT teams, especially in largest American cities could handle such crysis.
 
I'd just like to know, as old as this thread is, which SWAT you're talking about. There's probably over 10,000 SWAT teams in the US. Every large city (and some not quite so large) has one, most counties have one, & there are some small towns that have a mutual aid SWAT team. My city, Milwaukee, doesn't have a SWAT. It's called a Tactical Enforcement Unit but Milwaukee County Sheriffs Dept. has a SWAT team. It seems we're talking apples & oranges here. The quality of individual teams can vary a lot. Some would make the Army Rangers look weak & some might get beaten out by the local Boy Scout Troop. It all depends on training & mission.
