MOSCOW, December 12 (RIA Novosti) - Russia has delivered to Croatia two Mi-171Sh combat and transport helicopters, a representative of Russia's State-run arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Wednesday.
"Two knocked down helicopters were delivered on December 5 to the air force base in Croatia's Velika Gorica, where they were assembled within a week," Leonid Gladchenko said.
He said that in line with the contract, signed by Rosoboronexport and the Croatian Defense Ministry in 2006, Russia will supply a total of 10 Mi-171Sh helicopters to Croatia.
"We plan to complete the deliveries of the remaining eight helicopters by April 2008," Gladchenko said.
He also said that the first two helicopters will go on show to the country's authorities on December 12, when Croatia celebrates its National Air Force Day.
Mi-171Sh is designed to destroy tanks, gunboats, arms depots and enemy infantry. The helicopter's load capacity is four metric tons and its cruising speed is 230 km/h (143 mph).
