KIRKUK, Iraq, Aug 11, 2006 (AFP) - Insurgents killed two Iraqi police
officers and injured four more on Friday by detonating a roadside bomb as a
patrol passed, police said.
Captain Imad Jassim of Kirkuk police told AFP that US and Iraqi forces had
arrested 30 suspects following the explosion, which was triggered on the
outskirts of Hawijah, in northern Iraq.
Separately, government and coalition forces also arrested two Iraqis
suspected of belonging to the Al-Qaeda network of Islamic militants in an
overnight raid in the northern oil city of Kirkuk.
