RIP. Smoking Joe Frazier has died; KO'd by Liver Cancer.
What a fighter! On a giant screen in Bristol, I watched his awesome battles with Muhammed Ali, Live. Packed audiences were divided evenly in support of these two immortals and it was always a fight to the death, or inches from it.
At the end of these fights, awating the verdict, no-one present could predict the winner.
Ali said years later that he thought he was going to die in that ring, and also that in the ring he came to the conclusion that he would have to kill Frazier to stop him coming in at him.
