Zander, please,think it through. When the US adopted the 5.56, what did the Soviets do? Did they adopt the same calibre? No, they invented a new round that we now know as the 5.45mm. Why? Because they did not want their enemies to be able to resupply using their own ammo... EVER!!! The Swiss also use another calibre for the same reason. Commonality is great, but only when you want it.

![]() And shure this discussion goes nowhere because we are all not the ones that make the decisions of what should be replaced and with what it will be replaced. And we are on topic while talking about the different caliberīs and the pros and cons of a rifle. So please let us continue our discussion.
