Red Storm Rising.

CUBA by Stephen Coonts. It's a pretty good reader. Not a detailed as Red Storm Rising but it was a good book.
 
i read a book called "Couldron" which war more to do with EU v US, by Larry Bond i think.
 
Yeah, I highly recommend Cuba by Stephen Coonts. For technology race-type literature, Dale Brown's Flight of the Old Dog is good too.
 
Red Storm Rising wasn’t as good after I read Red Army by Ralph Peters.

Red Army was a very good read. Obviously it’s from the Soviet soldier's view point, and NATO is not portrayed in a very good way. But after reading too many books depicting US/Nato tank platoons obliterating whole Russian regiments, this book seemed to even things out. This book just seemed more realistic then Red Storm Rising, some how.

Another book I strongly recommend is First Clash by Kenneth Macksey;
Canadian armor fighting off Soviets…
 
Ah, I was never a huge Clancy fan, only really got into three of his novels. Found it to be a bit dry, personally. Spare on the action and just a tad overreaching on the details.
