Good morning. Just joined. Trying to pin down a quote, hope someone can help me.
WWII allied forces land at N. Africa and are met by Vichy French. The French who have no love for their German commanders try to surrender to some American Lt. The Lt. says " I will not accept your surrender. If you love tyranny fight us. If you love freedom join us."
Wow what presence of mind. Do I have this right? Who was the Lt.? Can I get more particulars?
