I need a quote for my senior pictures. This is gonna be underneath my senior picture in my yearbook. I need some ideas for a real kickass quote. You know, something hardcore, or funny, or thought provoking. You know! Something that doesn't make people think, "What a moron!" when they read my quote at the end of the year. I figured military would suit me just pretty since I'm all hardcore military anyways. ^_^ :camo:

If you want kickass pure and simple, go with somthing Patton said.
http://military-quotes.com/Patton.htm

If you want thought provoking, go with somthing Biblical

If you want thought provoking and controversial, go with somthing a Dictator said.

I had one of these things at the end of Middle School a few years back. I remember I used Isaiah 6:8, which is often used In a military sense.

Pressure makes diamonds.
- General George Patton Jr

^_^ Thankies, guys! ^_^ (I'm not gonna use that one, I'm just setting it aside for reveiw later. Keep posting, please! ^_^)

[EDIT]

"You must do your damdest and win."
-General George S. Patton

That one's nice, too. Problem is, Patton's got a mouth that'll never get into my high school year book. Too much french!

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
-Edmund Burke

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.
-Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Everybody gets one chance to do something great. Most people never take the chance, either because they're too scared, or they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes.

My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my enemies under me.

You are what you do. A man is defined by his actions, not his memory

A flute with no holes is not a flute

My friends, this is our final hour. Not all of us may survive the coming conflict. Yet, death may be a blessing should we fail here

I'm not a bigot, or a racist, or a sexist, because i hate everyone equally

I stalk terror wherever it hides

I am the only option when diplomacy fails

I am freedom's answer to fear

Dwell not on the past, for it cannot be changed.
Live for the moment, for it will never return.
Dwell not on the future for what will happen, will happen

Live free or die

Give me liberty or give me pizza, deepdish if you please

All Americans pledge allegiance, but only a select few show it

Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants

Adaptability is not imitation. It means power of resistance and assimilation

There are none so blind as those who will not see

If good men do nothing, that is evil enough

A good body with a dull brain is as cheap as life itself

And maybe there's no peace in this world, for us or for anyone else, I don't know. But I do know that, as long as we live, we must remain true to ourselves

I will leave no one behind. Dead, or alive, we will all come home together

Don't wait for it to happen. Don't even want it to happen. Just see what does happen

Who would claim to be that, who was not? Hmm?

Power perceived is power achieved

Something given has no basis in value

Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst

This is for you new people. I only have one rule: everyone fights, no one quits. If you don't do your job, I'll shoot you. Do you get me?

I expect the best and I give the best

Figuring things out for yourself is the only freedom anyone really has. Use that freedom.

Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back.

Fear profits a man nothing

Hurry to meet Death before you're place is taken

Even the bravest that are slain
Shall not dissemble their surprise
On waking to find valor reign
Even as on earth, in paradise
And where they sought without the sword
Wide fields of asphodel fore'er
To find that the utmost reward
Of daring should be to dare

A rifle is only a tool. It's a hard heart that kills. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not kill. You will become dead Marines. And then you will be in a world of shit. Because Marines are not allowed to die without permission. Do you maggots understand?

God was here before the marine corps, so you can give your heart to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the corps

London. Paris. Athens. Rome. Belfast. Beirut. We're not the first city to have to deal with terrorism. Tel Aviv. The day after they bombed the market in Tel Aviv the market was open and it was full. This is America. We can take it

A flute with no holes is not a flute - Ha ha. I like that one.

"Holy crap, I made it?!" - Now that's a classic. ^_^

Nobody asks to be a hero, it just sometimes turns out that way - There was a First Sergeant at summer camp used to always say "Don't be a hero" or "He thinks he's gonna be a hero over here" Billy! Don't be a hero! Don't be a fool with your life! Billy! Don't be a hero! Stay home and make me your wife!

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants - That reminds me of something a forefather type guy said once. Something about revolution being good for democracy and all that jazz.

If good men do nothing, that is evil enough - I think Voltaire said something like that, too!

Death before dishonor - Roger.

Veni, vidi, vici - I came, I saw, I conquered. (Julius Caesar)

Veni, Vidi, volo in domum redire - I came, I saw, I want to go home (Anonymous)

As far as the Tree of Liberty quote, that was Thomas Jefferson.

Friedrich Nietzsche:

It is my ambition to say in ten sentences; what others say in a whole book.

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

There are no facts, only interpretations.

The aggressor is always peace-loving; he would prefer to take over our country unopposed.

Carl Gustav Jung:

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

The Path of the Ritegous man is beset on all sides by the enequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.Blesed is he who in the name of charity and good will sheperds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truley his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengence and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers AND YOU WILL KNOW MY NAME IS THE LORD WHEN I LAY ME VENGENCE UPON THEE.
----Ezekieal 25:17(according to Quentin Tarentino)

And sheperds we shall be for thee my lord for thee, power hath decened forth from thy hand to carry out swiftly thy comand. And we shall flow a river forth to thee and teeming with sould shall it ever be

I think I'm reviving a dead topic here, but one of my favorite quotes is from I believe a French army motto (sadly French, but nonetheless a good quote):

"Who dares, wins."

(My mistake, for some reason I was always udner the impresion this was a French motto. I dunno why. It's actually an SAS motto.)

Thought provoking quote

It takes twenty years or more of peace to make a man; it takes only twenty seconds of war to destroy him. --Baudouin I, King of Belgium

Supposing truth is a woman, what then?

Another one my favorite Nietzsche qoutes. And oh the humor in this one thought when attempting to understand the oppisite gender.

It was Winston Churchill, I thought for a while it was Thucydides who stated that, but he didn't.
