Question for US Marines

I was watching HOMLAND on TV and one episode had the VP of the US ushered into an underground site for protection. The site was guarded by Marines in Dress uniform and sidearm's. Would the Marines really be wearing Dress Blues or BDU’s (or whatever they call the standard battle uniform today)?

Also, if a case of a threat to the Pres/VP, I would think they would be more heavily armed then just sidearm’s. Of course under this admin they may not be armed at all.

What say you Marines?
 
That would be a portrayal of Yankee White connected detail. If they were the post standers at the site chances are they would be in a variation of the blues. The Reac would probably be in Cammies.
