It is a new Russian reality show, filmed in 2012 and to be released on TV this year. 12 men aged25 to 35 were picked, of whom 8 actually served in the military before and 4 didn't.
The men were sent to 336th Guard Naval Infantry Battalion of the Russian baltic Fleet, to serve as Marines fro a week.
They were to experience all the aspects of life of a Russian Marine. This includes eating in a mess hall
and sleeping in bunks
(and how well they made their bunk in the morning gained or lost points for them too hehe)
They received weapons and other training
the long marches were especially gruelling
at least of the contestants, it seems, simply broke down later, at the end
said he didn't know how real guys in the Marines could do this every day. lol
They also had to learn how to use the armoured vehicles
and did a parachute jump, for which they first practised on a simulator
They were then taken aboard a Naval Infantry Transport Ship and learned how Marines live and sail to battle on these
Throughout, they were graded and rated by a jury panel of real life Marines
