I have to say, I think Newt is my favorite moron of the bunch - after the governor of Texas who THANK GOD is no longer in the picture. (Though I am going to miss the news making fun of Perry).

Starring, GINGRICH:

p.s. I know and respect the 1st amendment, but please don't post on this thread if you are even considering that you could have or may vote for either Perry or Gingrich. I will ask Redleg to make me a moderator solely so I can delete you from the face of IMF. ;) :horsie:

Sounds like typical "Freedom of Speech" from the other Party.

I disagree with Pixie on this as I respect everyone's right to comment, but lets not pretend your side is any better in respecting free speech. I am not going to say liberals are saints, but Conservatives are far more intolerant...by a longshot.

Most Republicans in Washington don't like Obama, but its not personal. They don't care for his ideas and abhor his policies but like the man personally. It was the same way Democrats got along with Ronald Reagan.

Gingrich however, NOBODY likes. His a nasty, arrogant and selfish person who only care about himself. (This is a guy whose vendetta against the Clinton's started because he didn't get the seating assignment he wanted on AF1). And nobody knows this better than the GOP, which is why the RNC is trying everything possible to derail his candidacy. Lets face it, Newt didn't get hammered with Ethics violations and thrown out of office BY HIS OWN PARTY because they loved him.

There seems to be a lot more incidents of Liberals shouting down Conservatives that the other way around. Can't say I'm a Newt supporter. I like your second paragraph.

Well, I'm the new guy here so I should be treading carefully in a political forum, but I'd strenuously object to mmarsh's contention that Obama is "well-liked" on a personal level. I'd submit that it's impossible to "like" a president who is as completely self-absorbed, narcissistic, and completely immersed in his own agenda to redistribute wealth.

Okay, I'll take it back. It isn't HIS own agenda, it's Bill Ayer's. And George Soros'.

Bravo, you've just about described every politician on earth.

First of all, Read the polls. He has a 76% personal approval rating (CNN-IPSOS). Object all you like, that fact wont change.

Second thats your personal opinion, and since you don't provide any examples of your accusations its pretty clear you are just spewing the hate of what you have heard from other right-wing media outlets, which isn't that surprising as they don't provide any proof of their accusations either.

FYI, George Soros and Bill Ayers have nothing to do with the 2012 elections, other than possibly making donations and voting. But people giving money to Democrats has always been an anthema to Republicans -hence the obsession on George Soros.

And lastly wealth redistribution has been going on America since the 1980s. Who do you think footed the bill for the two millionaire Bush tax-cuts? You think the rich are going to pay for their own taxcut? Perhaps you think its normal for a person who is worth is $202 Million to actually have a lower tax rate than your average Middle Class American Family. The word for that is Aristocracy.

If you are so worried about wealth distribution then you should stop voting Republican.

Ayers had no role in the election because The Media did want to do stories on Obama's buddy the unrepentant Terrorist. Now if a Republican was a long time buddy of an unrepentant Imperial Wizard.....

That's hysterical! :D You expect me to actually accept a CNN poll as being something other than biased?

Have you seen the Rasmussen polls? Methinks they paint a somewhat different story than what you're attempting to portray. And everyone knows that the president - whoever it is - pretty much gets a bump after the SOTU address. So your glowing report of the Empty Suit in Chief doesn't much wash here. Historically, Obama has been sucking hind teat for the past year plus and just recently got this bump due to the SOTU address and some surprisingly "encouraging" economic data - which, I might add, is pretty weak and not sustainable.

You know, "hate" is a pretty strong word. I don't much care for that word, just as I don't care for your attempt to describe my own disaffection for Obama as "hate." Kindly desist from that practice, if you please.

You seem pretty sure about George and Bill's own monitoring about the election. While Bill's activities are debatable, there is no way you can convince me that Soros hasn't contributed/thrown money at/otherwise attempted to steer politicians his way. Soros has a long, checkered history of doing that and pretending that he doesn't won't wash either. (It's what liberal, socialist billionaires do with their money, last I checked.)

Oh, another thing. GWB never has been and never will be a conservative and his tax cuts, just as they've been adopted and validated by Obama, don't really amount to much at all, especially when you factor in a $15 trillion deficit. It's a political gesture, nothing more. Nice try, but no see-gar!

And the last little tidbit for now - I am not a Republican. (I ain't a Libertarian either, just in case you might think I'm some sort of Ronulan/Paulbot.)

Have a great day!

Bravo, you've just about described every politician on earth.

It takes a special kind of naivete or even misplaced arrogance for a person to actually think their political activities will "make a difference."

I'd think the common thread with most politicians is power. Money runs a very close second.

Lol... watch out for Mmarsh when he is on a roll! Seen it many times and still like it :)

Looking forward to it! ;-)

It's pretty clear he and I are on different sides of the political spectrum, and that's just dandy.

I sincerely doubt that either of us is going to do much to change the other person's mind, but what the heck - I'll certainly learn an item or two along the way.

Not has hysterical as the giant hypocritical statement you just made mocking me. You laugh at me for posting "bias" CNN and then in the same sentence mention Rasmussen. Big Mistake.

You do know that Rasmussen is a part of NEWS CORP which has a far, far, far worse reputation of slanted polls, one sided reporting, outright deceit and dishonesty than CNN ever does, as is typical of every Rupert Murdoch publication all over the entire world. Look whats happening in the UK if you don't believe me on that one. You really don't get any closer to bias news than that! CNN is idiot TV most of the time, as all they want to talk about is pointless things like the Kardashians, NEW CORP is quite simply GOPTV.

Request Denied. I know a hate speech when I hear one, and you showed your hand by calling the POTUS a self absorbed narcissist. So if you don't want to be called out that it I suggest you lower your tone several degrees first, otherwise the label stays exactly where it is.

George Soros hasn't done anything that Conservatives contributors like the Waltons, the Koch brothers, the Mars family, Richard Scarif or any other rightwing contributor hasn't done as well. As the boys above pointed out, you only seem to take offense when the OTHER side does it, not really your own. You can't have it both ways. George Soros is simply the mirror image to the people I mentioned above.

Boy, talk about revisionism. I just love how some rightwingers claim GWB is no longer considered a conservative. When he was in office you claimed he was the savior of conservatism, but now as Bush is now regarded as one of the worst presidents in US history he is no longer a conservative. In baseball that's called a fair-weather fan. Well by your description, neither was Ronald Reagan as GWB only took Reaganism and put it on steroids. Everything that Bush did in his 8 years came from the Reagan era, especially the Tax cuts. So if Bush wasn't a conservative neither was Ronald Reagan.

And speaking of the taxcuts, that's totally wrong. Obama extended them until December 2012. The reason he did so was to avoid keeping the long term unemployed from losing their benefits, something THE GOP demanded as a concession. Unemployed tax benefits for millionaire taxcuts that was the trade. Again, if you don't like I would have a word with the GOP about that since they were the ones who insisted on that concession. Personally, I thought Obama made a foolish decision as the tax cuts was one of the most irresponsible legislation ever passed.

Last tidbit. I used to be a registered NY Republican, I am now a independent since the party went off the deep end.

Its evening here in Europe, so ill wish you a goodnight.

OH noes, we're getting closer to the US election again.....
Why can't we all just be friends and talk about pretty flowers instead?? :rambo:

I can't really say that we've got good experiences from the previous elections, but I'll let this one stay open as long as you manage to stay civil in here... :viking:

Hey Mmarsh, you were right about Perry and I was wrong.

I prefer a gun range followed by beer but to each their own :drink:

This is going to be the nastiest election in my lifetime.

My candidate is Ron Paul but I have accepted the main stream society will not vote for him so I am stuck with dumb :cens: #1 vs. dumb :cens: #2.
