Funny, as in, Haha,.... or funny, as in peculiar?
Personally, I'm yet to find any "party" politician worth 10% of of what we pay them.

Seems the President Obama supporters are doing a fair job of moving the topic away from whether President Obama's foreign policy is as milk toast as President Jimmy Carter's. That probably suggests that it is, or worse, that it is nonexistent.

Lets see, Carter gave away the Canal, stood by during the Iranian Revolution, botched Desert 1, when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan he announced he was sending a squadron of unarmed fighters to Saudi Arabia. A record Obama would be hard pressed to match.

1. The Canal was built during a time (early 1900s) where the US Imperialism ruled over South America. The Imperialist era thankfully ended after WWII, what Carter did was to return to Panama what was rightfully theirs. It would have been inconceivable to have tried to keep it, did didnt belong to us anymore than the French have right over the Statute of Liberty.

2. How did Carter Botch Desert One? It was a high risk operation that failed mainly because of bad luck. I dont think unexpected turn of events, mechanical breakdown, and a Kfir appearing out of nowhere can be blamed on Carter. The operation was a failure and Carter took the blame but nothing Carter did was to blame. Read the incident of you dont believe me.

3. The Iranian revolution. When are you people going to learn that sticking your nose in other peoples business is good way to get it broken. Wasn't Vietnam, and Iraq lesson enough about trying to play Kingmaker? And if you count Afghanistan that makes it 0-3. Maybe if some of the Neocons practiced what they preached and actually served on a front line they wouldn't be too eager to risk the lives of other peoples kids.

4. I guess you didnt read the most recent facts here, because the lastest evidence shows that Carter started aid to the Majhadeen in 1979, 6 months before the actual USSR invasion because they knew the Soviets were going to invade. From a interview withe Carter's national Security Advisor Zbigneiw Brzezinski who is also quoting Robert Gates (head of the CIA) at the time. Reagan merely took over a plan from Carter and the took all the credit.

Democrats & Carter did thier best to gut the military, post Vietnam, so that may account for a good deal of it, like insufficient numbers of helos, training, ect Some of it was downstream, like not using the USAF Special Ops pilots to fly the helos, the Marines who reportedly removed the dust filters from the engine intakes. What Kfir? One just magicly appears over Iran, or somewhere else? One Lib member of a different Forum claims Carter was making back door nuke threats if the hostages were harmed, haven't seen any confirm on that.

Carter is nothing like Obama, Terrorists would stil attack while carter was in, they won't attack while Obama is in office cause the say they won;'t attack their own.

Please don't ask me to verify my source, I saw it on one of the national news segments one night, they were interviewing a islamic cleric who said that no attacks would come to the US while own of their own was in office. I can neither confirm or deny the validity of the islamic cleric, but I did find it odd that somebody would say that.

Well, if it means we won't be attacked I take that as a very good thing!

I dunno, the guy that said that was right, then we may or may not have a bigger or smaller problem. I just wish I could find that segment, I've searched all over the internet and it seems to have been deleted.
Personally I don't like Obama, not because he's half muslim, or because he's half Black and half white, I couldn't care less about that, what i do care about is the stuff he's doing that is already costing me money.
But then .........the last president i liked was Regan
