JESUS OF NAZARETH by Joseph Ratzinger ( Pope Benedict XV1)
(bloomsbury)

This book, which I have not yet read, is reviewed in today's Sunday Express (22 July), and it appears to be a real bolt from the blue, with very surprising view-points from The Pope. No miracles or angels here, it sounds a very pragmatic, untraditional approach to the reality of Jesus. Strangely, I feel it is probably one that I share, and deals, for me, with what I have considered to be obstacles for the church, a reason why I have always found the Easter Passion unpalatable in some respects.
The review suggests that this book will be of interest to atheists and agnostics. It will certainly be welcomed by me,seriously, if the review is accurate.
