P-38 captured!

I share with you some rare pictures (in color and w/b) of fighters Lockheed P-38 Lightnings captured and with German and Italian markings during World War II. P-38s were used in Europe, just overshadowed by the P-51. Germans captured a variety of planes by setting up a fake RAF airfield on the Brittany Peninsula to fool lost pilots. I know the Italians captured a few also.

This picture has an interesting story behind it...

As it was given to the Germans by a defecting pilot in 1944..
