It is a joke.

I think they are referring to an incident when I think it was a Brazilian Goal Keeper missed a block and Brazil lost the game, he was killed by a mob and dragged through the streets.

And then their was the time when I think Nicarauga and Guatemala went to war over a soccer game, they played three games, the home team each one the first two games, so the third game was played in the neutral Mexico City, one country's team won and the losing team's country attacked the winning team's country 3 weeks later.

Yes, but China is starting to be strong in areas that they were not previously. For instance, who had ever heard of there being firstclass Chinese sprinters? But this time around, they won 110 meter hurdles and on top of that, tied the world record. Pretty impressive.

Once China further increases the diversity of the medals it wins, they'll prolly catch up to Russia.
