It is like some mathematisians who spend their lives trying to prove that 0 = 0. Yes, it is math but I doubt if they ever add and subtract the regular routines.

So to answer your question: I don't know, I guess so.... do you believe in evolution?

Christ almighty Mighty!! I reckon you should get a dictionary and look up all the jobs ending on "ologists". You take the best one of those and that is what you aim at! Can you imagine how interesting that is going to be: "So Mighty, what is it you do? Can you support my daughter with it?" "Heck yeah sir, after 4 years of uni I became a Alethio-antropologist with a minor in ornithology!".... I wonder what the expression on his face will look like!

Hahahahaha poor poor Mighty! I'm truly sorry that I was so insensitive about your insecurities of a youngsters life. Actually anthropologists have a nice job (I you like it). I met them on more then one occasion during my study because Human Geography and Cultural Anthropology are quite connected and use many same theories. If you chose the right specialization you get to travel all over the world on somebody else's credit card.....

Anthropologists in short terms work with the following topics:

Quote:
Anthropologists study the origin and the physical, social, and cultural development and behavior of humans. They may examine the way of life, archaeological remains, language, or physical characteristics of people in various parts of the world. Some compare the customs, values, and social patterns of different cultures. Anthropologists usually concentrate in sociocultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, or biophysical anthropology. Sociocultural anthropologists study the customs, cultures, and social lives of groups in settings that range from unindustrialized societies to modern urban centers. Linguistic anthropologists investigate the role of, and changes to, language over time in various cultures. Biophysical anthropologists research the evolution of the human body, look for the earliest evidences of human life, and analyze how culture and biology influence one another. Physical anthropologists examine human remains found at archaeological sites in order to understand population demographics and factors that affected these populations, such as nutrition and disease.

You can either work within research enviroments at universities, in large multi national companies developing plans for further expantions in other regions of the world and so on. Does it pay good? Don't know but the learning of other cultures and perhaps travelling and seeing the world is priceless!

And don't forget that Universities give a very decent pay, good holidays and fine secundary things such as health benefits, insurance and pensions. You get to travel a lot and do research. If you can make into uni, you are as good as settled...
