Three men were convicted of plotting to recruit and train terrorists to kill American soldiers in Iraq, a case put together with help from a former soldier who posed as a radical bent on violence. The men — Mohammad Zaki Amawi, 28, a dual citizen of Jordan and the United States; Marwan Othman el-Hindi, 45, a naturalized citizen born in Jordan; and Wassim I. Mazloum, 27, a legal permanent resident — face maximum sentences of life in prison. A federal jury in Toledo returned its verdict after three days of deliberations. All three were convicted of conspiring to kill or maim people outside the United States, including military personnel, and Mr. Amawi and Mr. Hindi were convicted of distributing information regarding explosives to terrorists.
