i have a 1919 built springfield 03 w/a claw mount ajack 4x90 scope on it. bought in petaluma,ca.. everything works just fine but this scope is different than any other i've seen. been looking for answers about 5 yrs. a guy at a gun show in ca said it's common and worth $600 and the scope has the binocular logo like normal. but has a double stepped front bell and the elevation dial is mounted backwards from any other out there. s.n. 30132. still sealed good with reg 3 post reticle. was this made by someone in the factory? also looks like blood stain between stock and barrel. death in ww1 then vet using it for deer? any info on scope is very appreciated. i would like to post some photos but either i dont know how or it wont let me. thanks

I like the intro :) It is not very often I open a conversation with talking about a scope... Than again, I am a relatively old man by now, perhaps time's a changin'? I do wonder what you posted in other threads, something like "Hi, my name is ajack, I am....."
