Odd Lefty Hand USAF flap Holster

good evening , has anyone seen a left handed holster similar to the one below, its stamped USAF, but its a lefty , I have seen a couple of right handed holster but never a lefty , , how did the US Air Force and when ??:angel:

That is not an issued piece.

Construction is similar to items made and sold in small shops in RVN.

Some places this stuff was allowed, others not.
 
As a one time collector of military odds 'n' ends I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole.

My impression is that it is not a genuine issued item.

Plus in the photo, the stitching looks too clean to have seen any real use
 
howdy , well this is the third one I have [ 4 inch revolver ] only this ones a lefty , holster is the same construction as the 2 inch Aircrewman holsters made but the same company with white thread also , only difference is this holster is a lefty and 4 incher,
 
Looks like something from the late 1950s to early 1960s from the Heydays of USAF SAC. The SAC Guards were an odd bunch of ducks when it came to uniform policies. Lots of the SAC guys used stuff that wasn't in the regs. Fake Stag Grips on their guns, cross draw rigs, etc....

That blokes beret looks like a helicopter landing pad.
