The problem with polls is that they are only a snapshot of the community used to obtain them, for example the results you get from 100 households will vary depending on the time and the day they you poll them, add to that the rural/urban separation and socioeconomic variation in peoples choices and you will quickly discover that polls are almost completely irrelevant.
However the polls are the subject of this thread, so with new ones we should be able to get more out of it.
The Democrats didn't put Sarah Palin out there! She deserves all the bagging she gets for her inept interviews without an auto-cue! Elections are a numbers game and if the Republicans stuffed up with Sarah P, bad luck.
That interview with Katie Couric was a shocker (thanks TOG). I reckon most of us could have done better.

Interesting to see how Joe Biden handles her.
Monty, I just can't see anyone here descending yet to the silly levels of the "Republican Rump" on this forum. We have just pointed out some of the absurdities of the Republican efforts so far.

The following was taken from the link above. It uses the abbreviated term
BS which stands for a phrase that some people may find offensive but means "talking garbage". Most seasoned politicians can do this with skill on most subjects. Unfortunately Sarah Palin has been caught way out of her depth, particularly on the area of foreign policy. Remember, "Old Man" McCain picked her. How good is his judgement??
"A number of commentators, including the
Atlantic's James Fallows and
Slate's Christopher Beam, have echoed Beam's assessment that Palin resembled a "high schooler trying to
BS her way through a book report," which is an insult to both high schoolers and
BS. Palin's answers were hesitant, convoluted and, at times — like when she appeared to suggest that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin might be preparing a one-man airborne invasion of Alaska — downright loony."

It just gets more painful for Johnny and Sarah. It's going to be a tough 5 weeks.
