12.) Russian T-72
11.) Israeli Merkava
10.) German Leopard 2a6
9.) Challenger II
8.) M1 Abrams
7.) British Centurion MK III
6.) Russian IS-2
5.) British MK IV (WW1 tank)
4.) German Tiger I
3.) German Panther G
2.) German Panzer IV
1.) Russian T-34

Thje order might not be perfect, but those tanks all deserve to be recognized IMHO.

T-72? Why? T-62, was prefered over it. IS-2, how is it any different from the M103A1?

Also Dean it isn't the Sherman the Russians refused to use, it was the M3 Lee they disliked to use.

Yes, the T-62 was a better tank than T-72!

Not necessarily, the T-62 just worked better in Afghanistan because of the terrain, the T-72 was designed for a clash on the european battle front, not the mountainous regions of Afghanistan.

You are comparing tanks from different generations. The IS-2 was a Soviet WW2 tank. It was the IS-3, later designated the T-10, that became the main Soviet heavy tank immediately post-war. Even then, the T-10 was the better tank design.

I'd almost love to combine the IS-2 and IS-3 into one for it. Would make it simpler.

Reason I'm going with the T-72 is partly their numbers and popularity, and they were definitely a very good design but limited by poor technology.

Oh, If the Soviets have more Tech, I think the tanks would be great!
