is this normal

hey nice neat pic you got btw ;)

My pc sometimes is soo slow and lags too.. But I dont think the CPU reaches zero..
what does it mean anyway?

Thats kind of odd...Can you still function normally on the computer? is it SUPERSLOW? Or can you surf without interruption?

Yeah yeah what RL just said. And do not touch anything after HijackThis has scanned. Just post the log in here and wait for what competent people suggest.

Most of this stuff is pretty beneficial. Run the apps. Then HijackThis and post the results. If you have lots of superfluous crap clogging up your system, it muddies the proverbial waters.

Incidentally, the "performance" tab is something of an estimate and prone to the vagaries of operation just like all the rest of the MS software in the world.

Hi,

More Info Boy ? What are you generally Doing when that happens ? and are able to use the Computer Normally when this Happens ? ...... was there anythign Else Open when this Heppens ? How LOng does this last ? take a Snapshot of the Processes Tab Also when this Happens ...... And Notice the Process taking Up Too much memory ........ Post the Hyjack as RL suggested without Touching Anythign .....

thats the log from that thing redleg posted....

swordfish: i had left the computer alone for 10 minutes while i went to take a shower, it happens everytime im on the comp, only things like instant messangers are open, its the entire time im on the comp.

You've got an incredible amount of useless programs running, so that's probably the reason why you're using so much memory...

How much memory do you have on your computer?

Redleg is right, your pc is filled with junk, and the junk is slowing down your pc.

For one thing, get a decent antivirus (mcafee or norton) and dump ALL that Yahoo crap (antivirus, toolbar, messenger etc). Its no good, and its eating your memory.

You also seem to gave lots of duplicate programs running, for example AIM, MSN Messenger, AND Yahoo Messenger. Just pick one. Again you have both the yahoo AND google toolbar. You dont need both pick one.

Do you use itunes? if not dump it. If you need Quicktime, Apple does make a non-bundled version called Quicktime Basic. The dont like to advertise it so just do a google search.

Lastly it looks like you are using the manufactures software/drivers for your components. Thats a bad idea for 2 reasons. First it fills you pc up with useless software such as Creatives Media Source and it installs obsolete drivers to boot that causes conflicts in certain games to crash. Never use manufactuer CDs if possible, and always download drivers only from the manufactures website.

Get a firewall as well so that the internet doesn't give you crap onto your comp. ghostwall is good stuff and it's free, give zonealarm a try as well.

how do i find out how much memory i have?

Replace Norton (which slows down your computer toooo much) with the excellent AVG Anti Virus Grisoft. It's free and light, and it works. Norton no good. My 2 cent but I know for a fact Sword and Redleg will agree.
