The Ranger Creed 5th Stanza
Engergetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.[/b]

I've heard the US Army Rangers say it a lot, but I'm sure that it's used in several other countries as well.

agreed it was the Army Rangers that first used it as a motto. however, "leave no man behind" is a mainstay in almost all military branches all over the world, especially in special forces.

That quote is honorable to the rangers. The quote does have its disadvantage.

In Germany it's used, too. I think its a basic principle wich you must have in an army, because if a soldier knows that, what ever happens, he is not alone and won't be left behind, he will take much more risk.
And I think it's also a ethic principle, that you have to help you comrades

Maybe it has its disadvantage, but that's not the way you should think in a military unit

I know the marines use it too, not as much though. During the Korean War in the Chosin Resouvier, the British commandos were amazed of how the Marines would go back out for their dead and wounded.
