Nine Iraqis wounded in two bomb attacks in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Nine people, including some policemen, were
wounded in Baghdad in two roadside bomb attacks on Saturday morning, an
Interior Ministry source said.
A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol went off near the Al- Nedaa
mosque in eastern Baghdad, wounding five policemen, the source told Xinhua
on condition of anonymity.
Another bomb detonated at the Muhammed al-Qassim Street near Zaiyouna,
in eastern Baghdad, wounded four people, the source said.
The upsurge of violence in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities is seen as a
further setback for the Iraqi government's efforts to achieve security and
peace.
