Wives of dead generals faint at burial

The wooden caskets bearing the remains of the 10 Generals, one Lt. Colonel and two Wing Commanders were covered with the national flag, on which were wreaths, military boots and caps.
The pall bearers were senior military officers.
Encomiums were showered.
President Olusegun Obasanjo presented the national flag to each of the next of kin of the officers, after which the caskets were lowered into the earth, with tears from the widows and the children each of who took a handful of dust and poured it on the caskets.
The final interment prayers at the Military Cemetry, Abuja on Thursday were conducted by Christian and Muslim clerics.
Then, with the traditional 21-gun salute, the military bid farewell to some of their finest who died in the air crash in Benue State on Sunday.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice President Atiku Abubakar. He and Obasanjo dressed in identical blue flowing gowns and black caps.
There were Sierra Leonean President, Teejan Kabbah; Senate President Ken Nnamani, House Speaker Bello Masari; Chief Justice Alfa Belgore; former military President, Ibrahim Babangida; former Zambian President, Kenneth Kaunda, cabinet members, other lawmakers, service chiefs, military top brass and diplomats. A two-minute silence was observed in honour of the men.
Obasanjo, Kabbah and Atiku led the service chiefs, Inspector General of Police, Sunday Ehindero, and other dignitaries to lay wreaths before the interment.
A representative of Ghanaian President, John Kuffour, and of Ghana’s Chief of Defence Staff laid wreaths too.
Widow of Major General J. O. Adesunloye, laid a wreath on behalf of all the widows. Lastman, a Captain and son of Major General Nuhu Bamali, did on behalf of the officers’ children.
Sorry it's a sad news. But relevant in the history of Nigerian Military.
